Proud owners of adopted / rescue pets will be able to celebrate in style on Saturday, May 21. The Humane Society Serving Clark County will host a “Tail-a-bration” party at the Snyder Park Club House located next to Central Bark from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Planning for the event has begun and details will be forthcoming. The event is open to the public and will serve not only as a birthday celebration for all adopted pets, but as a fundraiser to support the spay and neuter program at the shelter.

“We are looking for volunteers and sponsors for this fun event” said Shelter Director Krissi Hawke. The event will feature children’s games and craft activities as well as an interactive story time with a local pet therapy group.

Adults will enjoy a variety of vendors featuring not only pet oriented products, but also something for the entire family. Food trucks will also be located on the grounds for guests to enjoy lunch or a snack.

A Run/Walk is being planned that will begin at 9:30 for dogs and their owners. Throughout the event demonstrations are planned featuring dog obedience and agility training. The day will finish up with a “Rescues Got Talent” contest featuring local dogs and their owners who will compete for the honor of Top Dog in the small and medium / large breed category.

At this time, the event organizers are looking for vendors who would like to participate in the event. They are also looking for local businesses who would like to sponsor the various activities planned for the day.

Volunteers are also needed at this time to help with the children’s games and activities as well as the Birthday Cake table that will feature sweet treats for family and Fido.

If you would like more information on how you can volunteer, sponsor a portion of the event or participate as a vendor, contact Krissi Hawke at 937-399-2917 Extension 14.
