The 2016 Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held on Saturday, May 14, but it is never too soon to plan the sign campaign that has had so much success in the past. In 2013, the first year the signs were out, the USPS was able to donate $1000 cash to the local pantry in addition to the food collected from the residential customers. The total cash donation given to date is $5300. The money is used to supplement the immediate needs of the pantry when supplies run low.

Local business owners have been very generous by supporting the food drive through the sponsorship of personalized signs. The signs are displayed the entire week preceding the food drive. They are placed in high traffic areas, including Main St., Church St., and Rt. 235 in Park Layne.

While efforts have been made to reach out to most of our local businesses, many have been missed, so here is your chance to be included in the support of our local pantry. If you have been contacted in the past and already have a sign, you will automatically be contacted again. If you haven’t had a sign before, and are interested in this very important project, please call 937-284-0064 before March 16. Be prepared to leave a message with your contact information. Whenever possible, calls will be returned before the end of the day. A time will be scheduled to meet and plan your sign design. The price for sponsorship is $35. The cost of the signs is kept very minimal, and all profits are given to the pantry. So remember, now is the time to STAMP OUT HUNGER!!!
