Wreck 0111 003Medics from the New Carlisle Fire Department are transporting a man for non-life threatening injures after his vehicle struck a utility pole.

The accident happened around 9:00pm Monday night when the driver, heading Northbound on SR 235 , crossed the center line at Church St. and struck a utility pole in front of Dominos. “He didn’t swerve and it didn’t look like he was going that fast” said one eyewitness. “There aren’t any skid marks or signs of him attempting to avoid the collision” said an Ohio State Patrol Officer, adding "he was wearing his seat belt."

Representatives from DP&L confirmed that there are no power outages as a result of the accident. After a quick assessment, it was determined that the pole will have to be replaced. “This is a big job here, we’ll probably be done around noon tomorrow” said one lineman. Traffic on 235 should not be affected during the utility pole replacement.

The family of the injured driver was notified of the accident before publication.
