Deputy Lyons 001Deputy Meiko Lyons is currently completing her training for road duty and is expected to join the New Carlisle force this month as the third deputy assigned to the city contract. She began her career with the Clark County Sheriff’s office in November of 2012 following her graduation from the academy.

Deputy Lyons is married with two children and comes to law enforcement after having worked at a family restaurant since she was a child. Her desire to attend the academy came from a wish to move up to “bigger and better” things.

During the three years that Deputy Lyons has been with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, she has been an “exemplary employee”. Last year she was nominated for two exceptional service awards.

Lyons duty in the jail received an honor for her prevention of a suicide and for preventing an escape from the jail.

She is certified in firearms, TASER, pepper spray and straight baton. She has also completed training in human trafficking here in Ohio.

Once the department has identified the bidder for the fourth position within the city force, the New Carlisle News will bring the information on the deputy and the amended contract to our readers.
