IMG 2191Tecumseh grad Shaylah Mutschler (‘09) spoke to seventh grade science classes at Tecumseh Middle School on Monday, November 23rd. Mutschler earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Wright State University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Aerospace Engineering studying astrodynamics at The University of Colorado Boulder. She studied abroad while an undergrad at Wright State and has worked as an intern at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. She encouraged students to study math and science in high school and participate in extra-curricular opportunities recalling her involvement in cheerleading, dance, and show choir while at Tecumseh. Students enjoyed her presentation entitled “Engineering…because dreams need doing.”

“Our House Is a Holiday House” by Roger Emerson was performed by Donnelsville Elementary third graders on Thursday, December 3rd at Tecumseh High School. This holiday revue included four song selections, and students also wished the audience “a swingin’ holiday”! Mrs. Enloe and Mrs. Willardson directed the third grade program.

Second graders at Donnelsville Elementary presented their holiday program to friends and family on Wednesday, December 2nd at Tecumseh High School. Several second grade teachers assisted with the program which was directed by music teachers Mrs. Enloe and Mrs. Willardson. Some of the musical selections included holiday favorites, “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.

These seventh and eighth grade writers will represent Tecumseh Middle School at the Power of the Pen District Tournament at Clark State Community College on Tuesday, December 15th. Writers from Clark and Madison Counties will compete in this initial level of competition. Over 500 schools representing 80 counties will participate in District Tournaments held at locations throughout the state.

Seventh grade team writers are:

Savannah Craig, Piper Caddell, Cara Johnston, Brianna Caldwell, Cailey Sanford, Anna Millar, Carrie Adams, and Bryseydi Diaz. Mrs. Meagan Wagner coaches the seventh grade team.

Eighth grade team writers are:

Natalie Hilty, Ava Ehlinger, Alaina Collins, Jacob Lewis, Ayanna Givens, Jillian Sarihan, Vivian Sarihan and Easton Lewis. Mrs. Sara Nelson is the eighth grade writing coach.

The Tecumseh Chapters of the National Honor Society and National Junior High Society participated in their organization’s annual toy drive. Books and toys donated by high school and middle school members will be distributed locally through Impact Bethel. The Service criteria of National Honor Society is defined through the voluntary contributions made by students to the school or community, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit.
