Sunday 3/11

9:18 a.m. To Willowick Dr. for a report of an accident. A vehicle struck a parked vehicle and left. The parked vehicle had extensive damage to the front, mostly on the driver’s side.

6:42 p.m. To Spinning Rd. for a report of an assault. A woman reported that her daughter had been assaulted by her boyfriend. The daughter at first said nothing happened and that she didn’t want anything done. After a while, she finally said that she was with friends on Orth Dr. and her boyfriend asked her to walk home with him. When they arrived at his home, the boyfriend became angry and accused her of cheating on him. She said he pushed her and she fell backwards leaving a red mark on her back. She said she is afraid of him, and he is about to go to prison anyway, so pressing charges would be pointless. She refused to file for a protection order because she loves him and would not do that to him just before he goes to prison.

Monday 3/12

10:12 a.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of a possible domestic dispute. A 15-year-old girl said that her father hit her in the mouth causing it to bleed. The father said that he yelled at her for not going to school. He said she told him to get out of her face and he smacked her in the mouth. He said she then started tearing up things in the house and poured water all over the floor. The mother related a similar story. They did not wish to file charges, but wanted the girl to understand that she has to go to school. The deputy explained to her the importance of a good education.

11:19 a.m. To W. Madison St. for a report of a child standing outside. The deputy arrived to find the child standing between the screen door and the main door trying to get back into his home. The deputy knocked on the door several times and a young male answered the door and said he did not live there. A woman was found sleeping on the couch. She was awakened and asked why deputies were there. She was advised that her son was at the door, crying and trying to get back in. New Carlisle EMS responded to check the child out. The child said he opened the door and walked out. The mother was advised to get better locks on the door. The deputy contacted the Prosecutor’s office, and they said they didn’t believe charges were warranted.

5:53 p.m. To Frayne Dr. for a report of an unruly juvenile. The 12-year-old boy said he was mad at his step-father for taking his phone away from him. The mother said the boy is on several types of medication because of his behavioral issues. She also said that he grabbed a knife and clenched it but did not make any threats. She was advised to contact the boy’s doctor about his medication.

Tuesday 3/13

5:57 p.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. A man reported that his ex-girlfriend, who has a protection order against him, has been continuously calling him over the past few days. HE said that he initially contacted Greene County, where the TPO was filed, but they referred him to Clark County. He said he has filed reports about her calls before. Deputies saw that he received calls over four days, all of which he ignored. Deputies heard a voice mail from his daughter expressing concern over his well-being. HE said he has not talked with his daughter because she is also mentioned in the TPO, and not being able to talk to her is having a toll on his mental health. He requested a report to show to the Greene County courts.

Wednesday 3/14

7:11 p.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A man called to report that he got gas and paid with his credit card at the pump. The next day he started noticing unauthorized charges to his card totaling over $2,000. The deputy went to the gas station and was informed that the Auditor’s office was there recently and saw no card skimmer on the pump. The deputy inspected the pump and found nothing unusual. The man said that he has cancelled his card.

8:17 p.m. To Spinning Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her mother would not allow her to leave with her children. She said that her mother is overbearing and wants to control her life. She said all she wants to do is move out with her children. The mother was advised that the woman has the right to take her children anywhere she wants to. The woman said she was leaving and would pick up her children the next day after she gets car seats. She was advised to call for a peace officer when she comes back.

Thursday 3/15

12:03 a.m. To Brubaker Dr. for a report of a fight. Deputies arrived to hear people yelling in an apartment. They knocked on the door and a woman let them in. There were two men in the apartment, her husband and her brother. All three advised that they had been drinking and invited neighbors to join them. They said they were playing chess and drinking when one of the neighbors became belligerent. An argument ensued which escalated to shoving and slapping. All parties were advised to go to bed and to stay away from one another.

12:08 p.m. To Osborn Rd. for a report of a theft. A man reported that a vehicle was stolen from his property. He said he had been working on it and must have left it unlocked with the keys in it. Deputies checked the area to see if there might be surveillance video of the theft, but could find none. The vehicle was later found in Riverside by Riverside Police who made two arrests for Receiving Stolen Property. One of those arrested is a suspect in a burglary that a detective has been working on.

Friday 3/16

10:04 a.m. To Weinland St. for a report of a missing person. A woman reported that her son left home at 6:30 yesterday morning as if he was getting on the school bus, but never went to school. She said he didn’t come home last night and wasn’t at school today, either. She said he was recently suspended and has been more unruly since then. She said he may be into drugs. He was entered into the system as missing. On March 19, the woman reported that she had picked up her son in Vandalia. The boy told the deputy that he was staying with friends. HE was removed from the system.

2:59 p.m. To Tecumseh Middle School for a report of an assault that happened on a school bus. A 14-year-old boy said he saw two other boys arguing, and he told one of them to be quiet and sit down. The other then started arguing with him and pushed him. He said he then struck the boy in the face. The boy has previous behavioral issues. Deputies were awaiting video from the bus. He was suspended and his grandmother wanted him charged with being unruly.

Sunday 3/18

5:13 p.m. To Rawson Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A woman reported that her son has been staying with her for the past two days with his 2-year-old son. She said that she was trying to interact with her grandson and the son became angry and told her that she was upsetting him. She said that she left with the boy and took him to his mother’s home. When he returned, she asked him what he told the mother, and the son became upset, told her to stay out of his business and punched her in the head and shoulder. She said he then left. She had visible injuries but declined medical attention. She said that she wanted him arrested because he might return and kill her. Warrants were requested against the son for domestic violence and assault.

Tuesday 3/20

2:33 a.m. To N. Main St. for a report of a theft. A woman reported that she was doing laundry and preparing to move to West Milton. She said that when she got home, she found that someone had charged $32 to her card at Speedway on N. Main St. She said that she could not find her wallet. Both the laundromat and Speedway have surveillance cameras, but no one was available who was able to review video.

Wednesday 3/21

7:39 a.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a domestic disturbance. A man reported that a woman hit him and her brother. All parties were highly intoxicated. The brother had dried blood on his eye, and he said he fell outside. The woman said she never touched her brother. Due to all parties being intoxicated and uncooperative. No charges were filed.

9:36 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a trespasser. A man reported that there was a subject in an apartment who had been trespassed from the property earlier in the day. He said that the subject has never been on any lease agreement and had been staying off and on with the former tenant who had also been trespassed. He said he arrived to see lights on in the apartment, found the subject inside and told him to get out. He said that deputies had been out earlier in the day about the same subject and that is when he was trespassed from the property. The deputy checked and found that the subject was twice trespassed from the property. He was charged with burglary and taken to the Clark County Jail.

6:56 p.m. To Lower Valley Pike for a report of a domestic disturbance. No further details were given.

Thursday 3/22

12:09 p.m. A Lake Ave. resident called to report that his Playstation was stolen. He said that a friend was hanging out and kept asking about it. He said that when the friend left, the Playstation was gone. Attempts to contact the friend were not successful.

4:46 p.m. To Orth Dr. for a report of a trespasser. A man reported that a former tenant was inside a building without permission. The deputy arrived to find the subject on the porch. HE was recently trespassed from a neighboring address. The subject was acting strangely. He claimed he had no drugs on him and said that he knew he was evicted. The deputy asked why he was there, and he responded with an unintelligible answer and said something about “galaxy.” He was charged with burglary and taken to the Clark County Jail.

Friday 3/23

11:46 a.m. To Dahlia Rd. for a report of a possible fight. A man reported that he was complaining about the cleanliness of the home and started picking up their pet pig’s fecal matter. He said he must have been complaining too loud because his brother came in and pinned him to the wall in an aggressive manner. He said his brother scratched his nose and his eye. He did have visible injuries. Bethel Twp. Medics were called, but the man declined medical treatment and refused to sign a statement. The brother said that the man was kicking the pig’s litter box around the home and causing issues. HE said things got out of hand and a “scuffle” ensued. HE said he did not like the way the man was talking to his father and thought he was being abusive to the pig. The brother was determined to be the primary aggressor and was charged with domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

Saturday 3/24

4:45 p.m. To Cambridge Ct. for a report of a burglary in progress. A man reported that his girlfriend’s husband had forced entry into the apartment, grabbed his wife and left the house. The back door had been kicked in and the wooden door frame was split. The wife said that their divorce should be completed on April 4. She said she saw her husband in the back yard when she let her dog out. She said that she locked the door and he forced his way in. When he was inside, she said he grabbed her by the neck and pushed past her trying to get to her boyfriend. She had a small red mark on her shoulder and two bruises on her neck. The boyfriend said he was in the bedroom when he heard the woman calling for help and saw the physical altercation. Later in the day, the husband called to meet with a deputy. He said his sister-in-law had called him about accusations against him. He said that he was home all day and did not leave the house. He showed the deputy texts from the wife that were amicable. The deputy went back to the wife to confirm her allegations, and she did. The husband was charged with domestic violence and assault and taken to the Clark County Jail.

Sunday 4/1

12:36 p.m. Traffic stop in the 5700 block of E. State Route 571. Vehicle was stopped for a moving violation and after further investigation, Scott Schaurer was found to be driving under suspension.

Monday 4/2

7:24 p.m. Burglary not in progress in the 7000 block of S. State Route 202. No further information provided by Miami County Sheriff’s Office. (MCSO).

Tuesday 4/3

1:59 p.m. Telecommunications harassment in the 1900 block of Ross Road. After further investigation, a male was warned for telecommunication harassment.

11:09 a.m. Accident with no injuries reported in the area of US Route 40 and S. State Route 202.
