Monday 3/12

11:46 p.m. To Night Hawk Trail for a report of trespassers. A woman reported that several vehicles were in a field and were possibly racing. Deputies found two vehicles in a field on National Road, and when the deputy approached them, they took off. He was able to stop one of the vehicles and the driver identified the other driver. The property owner was notified and said that no one had permission to be on the property, especially damaging the field. Both drivers were charged with criminal trespassing.

Tuesday 3/13

10:29 a.m. To S. Dayton-Lakeview Rd. for a report of a theft. An employee reported that he found items missing. He checked surveillance video and saw a subject take the items. Another employee was familiar with the subject and identified him. He was contacted and returned some of the items and said that he knew nothing about a theft. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and she said that her boyfriend said that he had borrowed the items. The owner of the business said that he wished to pursue theft charges. Deputies went to the subject’s home and he finally admitted to taking the items. He was charged with two counts of misdemeanor theft and ordered into court.

Wednesday 3/14

12:55 p.m. To S. Main St. A store employee reported that someone has been in the loft area of the store after hours. She said she found partially eaten snacks up there. She said she believed that someone entered the loft during business hours and did not leave until the next morning. She said the partially eaten items came from the store and were not paid for. The loft is in the back of the store and only employees know it’s there.

Friday 3/16

12:42 a.m. To Enon Rd. for a report of an unwanted guest. A man reported that a male subject showed up and was kicking and beating on his front door because the subject’s girlfriend was in the house. He said he did not answer the door, and the subject then left, driving through his yard. Deputies were able to catch up with the subject, but he took off northbound on Enon Rd., ran the stop sign at Rt. 40, then pulled into a driveway in the 6700 block of W. National Rd. The subject then fled on foot. The deputy spoke with the resident who said the vehicle did not belong to anyone in her family. She said the subject had just called her to tell her his car was in her driveway and that he would be back for it. She said it was odd because she has had no contact with the subject in over a year. The vehicle was towed, and warrants were issued for criminal trespassing and several traffic violations.

No Time Given To Rachel Ct. for a report of an unwanted guest. A woman reported that she had been bickering with her son all day and told him to leave. She said he picked u pa pop bottle and threw it at her, hitting her in the stomach. She said he left, but started screaming and kicked her back door, causing damage to the door frame, then left the area. The deputy met the son later and he would not admit or deny guilt. He was charged with criminal damaging.

Satur 3/24

7:58 a.m. Unruly juvenile reported in the 5700 block of US Route 40. After investigation, the juvenile was charged with unruly.

Sun 3/25

00:44 a.m. Unruly juveniles reported in the 4600 block of E. State Route 571. Deputy spoke with complainant in reference to several juveniles toilet papering her residence and driving recklessly. Three of the juveniles, apparently acquaintances of the complaint’s daughter, were later located and will be returning to the residence to clean up the mess.

12:01 p.m. Theft reported in the 5300 block of US Route 40. Victim called to report the theft of items and believes a family member was responsible. This case is pending further investigation.

Mon 3/26

11:16 p.m. Theft not in progress in the 9000 block of Bellefontaine Road. RP reported her tenant moved out and took items from the house she wasn’t supposed to.

Tues 3/27

11:32 a.m. Disturbance reported in the 6500 block of US Route 40. Deputy responded the residence on a domestic complaint. After investigation a female was transported to the Women’s Shelter in Troy.

Wednes 3/28

7:43 p.m. Traffic stop in the area of S. State Route 201 and Singer Road. Vehicle was stopped for two plates required. At the conclusion of the traffic stop, the driver was issued a citation for two plates required, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thurs 3/29

00:50 a.m. Traffic stop in the 7500 block of US Route 40. Vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation. At the conclusion of the investigation, the male driver was charged with driving under suspension.

1:47 p.m. Abandoned vehicle in the area of S. Dayton Brandt Road and E. State Route 571. Deputy was unsuccessful in contacting the registered owner of the vehicle. The vehicle’s steering column appeared tampered with but had not been entered as stolen. The vehicle was towed to the Sheriff’s Office impound lot and this case is pending until the owner is contacted.

Fri 3/30

7:46 p.m. Civil dispute at Sunshine MHP, 6205 US Route 40. Deputy was dispatched to a civil dispute requesting a phone call. After speaking with both individuals involved, it was determined a domestic situation had occurred. Deputy responded to the residence and after further investigation, Jason Mahaffey was arrested and incarcerated.
