Pike Township Fire crews were called to 8414 Ballentine Pike to rescue a man whose foot was caught in a grain bin auger.
It is unsure what he was doing when he became trapped.
Crews from Bethel Township, New Carlisle, German Township and Clark County Hazmat responded to assist.
A surgical crew was requested from Kettering Medical Center and Care Flight was called.
Rescue crews were able to free the man and he will probably be able to keep his foot.
It took rescue workers nearly three hours to extricate the victim.
A member of the property owner’s family said that the man’s injuries were mainly at his ankle. She said that the victim does work for the owner on occasion, and only knew him as “Bill.”
Pike Township Fire officials did not reveal the victim's name.
The victim was taken to Kettering Medical Center by their Mobile Intensive Care Unit.
