Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on SR 235 near Stafford Road on June 2, 2017 at 09:47 P.M. in Pike Township, Clark County.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, a beige Chevrolet Malibu was northbound on SR 235 when it struck a juvenile that was riding a bicycle on the roadway northbound on SR 235. The juvenile was ejected from the bicycle after the impact.

The driver of the Chevrolet was Andrew Blake, age 19, from Springfield, Ohio.

The juvenile, now confirmed as a 6th grader at Tecumseh Middle School,  was transported to Dayton Children’s Hospital by Care Flight from the scene where he was later pronounced dead.

The juvenile was not wearing a helmet or reflective clothing at the time of the crash.

Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Fire Departments from Pike Township and New Carlisle assisted at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
