On Tuesday, April 11 Deputy Bryan Beller stopped a vehicle on Lower Valley Pike for unsafe vehicle, window tint and speed. When he approached the vehicle, he could smell an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and saw an open bottle of liquor on the front seat.

The driver, Javian Demartel Blake-Harris, of Woodbury Rd., was ordered out of the vehicle and it was searched.

The search yielded a scale with white powder, suspected to be heroin, and a capsule with white powder under the driver’s seat. He had $1143 in cash and two cell phones on him.

Blake-Harris was arrested for possession of drugs and said he had nothing else on him. He was advised that he was going to jail, and if he had any drugs on him, he would be charged with a felony charge of bringing drugs into the jail.

On the way to the jail, Blake-Harris continuously moved around. When they arrived at the jail, Beller found a piece of plastic with white powder in the back of his cruiser. He also found white powder on the seat and on the floor. Inside the jail, Blake-Harris changed his clothing. As he was removing his shorts, he placed his hands in his pocket after being warned not to do so.

He was handcuffed, and Beller found two bags of white powder tied to his shorts.

Blake-Harris was charged with possession of drugs, trafficking in drugs, conveyance of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and unsafe motor vehicle.

He was booked into the Clark County Jail.
