19 year old Shania Delawder has been arrested on one count of Involuntary Manslaughter related to the death of her seven week old son.

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on October 6, 2016 Clark County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the Drake Motel room# 12 to investigate a report of an unresponsive child. Arriving Deputies located the child and began rendering aid to the six week old male. The child was transported to the Springfield Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The preliminary investigation into the death of the child did indicate signs of abuse and neglect to the child. Throughout the investigation, detectives interviewed the mother of the infant, Shania Delawder, on numerous occasions, with the last interview occurring on January 13, 2017. Delawder admitted to detectives in the interview that she knew her 7 week old son had been severely injured and she didn't try to render aide which resulted in the child's death.

This case is still under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
