On April 7 at 4:50 am. Clark County Deputies Jon Snyder, Jason Patton, Steve Elliott, Nick Anderson and Sgt. John Rodgers in Charge responded to 16 Forest Dr. in the Crystal Lakes area of Bethel Township.

They had received information that Wanted Fugitive Michael Seals was inside this location, and that he was armed and dangerous. Seals was wanted on warrants for Abduction, Domestic Violence, Assault and Having Weapons under Disability.

All members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Uniform patrol have been trained on active shooter response, and have qualified with and carry issued patrol carbines. They have also been equipped with Ballistic Helmets, and new rifle plate vest as well, worn over their current issued ballistic vest.

Deputies dressed themselves in their additional protective gear and began the process to converge on the address with patrol carbines in hand. They covered each other as they went to the address and announced that the house was surrounded and that the Clark County Sheriff’s Office was there to serve warrants on Michael Seals. A male responded they would not open the door without a warrant. Contact was made with Command staff to obtain a search warrant. Negotiations continued with the persons inside the address.

After several minutes the male allowed deputies to enter the residence without a search warrant. Four males and two females were identified, Michael Seals was not present. After this attempt to arrest Michael Seals information was learned that did lead to his arrest in Fairborn, Ohio where he was taken into custody and transported to the Clark County Jail to be held on outstanding warrants.

This operation shows the training and equipment provided to the members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office by the Clark County Commissioners (David Herier, Rick Lohnes and John Detrick )and Sheriff Gene A. Kelly, all in efforts to serve the community and keep Sheriff’s deputies safe. The attached photo is Deputies Jon Snyder, Jason Patton, Steve Elliott and Nick Anderson wearing their issued Ballistic Helmets, New Rifle Plate Vest and holding their patrol carbines after completing the warrant service operation.
