IMG 6769The #8 seed Tecumseh Arrows lost to the #6 seeded Sidney Yellow Jackets 94-73 in the first round of the sectional tournament.

The Arrows now finished season with a 9-1 record in the Central Buckeye Conference and a 19-4 overall record.

Arrows head coach Roger Culbertson opens up about the disappointing postseason loss to the Yellow Jackets.

“I thought we didn’t come out the way we to. We didn’t play well at all on offense and defense, just didn’t make a lot thing happen. Offensively they came to play and bottom line we didn’t. They out hustled us and out played us, they deserved to win.”

In the first quarter, the Arrows were doing everything right to keep up with the Yellow Jackets.

The Arrows played aggressively and were very physical hitting the ground diving for loose balls.

In the last two minutes of the first quarters, the Arrows and the Yellow Jackets went back-to-back in scoring.

The Arrows were able to stay in the game with help of Darius Quisenberry and Rylan Magsaysay.

Both scored five points and ended the quarter tied at 14-14.

Heading into the second quarter, the Yellow Jackets sparked a six point run and led 22-14, leaving the Arrow to call an immediate timeout.

Coming out after halftime, the Arrows continued to fight back and play aggressively.

While managing to cut the deficit, the Arrows are brought back within nine points until Darius Quisenberry hits a key jumper to bring the score to 47-40.

Coach Culbertson recalls his team’s comeback.

“It was a lot of effort to make that comeback and it was hard to sustain that effort.”

After Quisenberry’s shot, the Yellow Jackets kept scoring and soon ignite another scoring drive and would lead by as 17 points.

The Yellow Jackets led 60-43 at the end of the third.

In the fourth quarter, the Arrows didn’t have a chance to make a comeback.

Although, Malik Quisenberry scored 18 of the Arrows 30 points in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough as the Arrows fall to the Yellow Jackets.
