Tecumseh suffered a tough non-conference loss last week, as they traveled to Springfield and were dealt a 78-31 defeat.

The Wildcats jumped in front early and never looked back. Tecumseh trailed 17-8 after the first quarter, but the Arrows went nearly an entire quarter without scoring, as Springfield went on a 17-1 run to jump in front at the half 38-10.

Springfield continues to control the second half, as they used a 22-12 third period, to cruise to the easy win.

Nobody reached double figures for the Arrows in the loss, as Reid Hale led the way with eight points. Scoring seven was Michael Green while Clay Mastin and Drew Sarihan each added five.

*On Friday night, the Arrows needed a last-second miracle to earn their first win of the season, and Hale delivered.

Following a Tecumseh missed free throw with 30 seconds left and trailing by two, they got the ball balc and with seconds remaining, Hale connected from three point land to give the Arrows the lead, and they held on for a 51-50 win over Kenton Ridge to give the Arrows win number one on the season.

Tecumseh built a lead after the opening period, and maintained a 29-21 lead at the half.

After the Cougars ran off a nine point run to end the third period, then took a lead down the stretch.

“It was looking bad for a little bit at the end of the game, we went ice cold in second half,” Tecumseh coach Roger Culbertson said. “Clay banked in a three to cut it to two. At the end, we had the ball underneath the basket and Reid came open off screen and hit the three. It was exciting for him.”

Tecumseh Girls Basketball- Tecumseh exploded out to a 28-3 lead after the opening period at Xenia last week, and never looked back as they defeated the Buccs 73-43, despite the game being much more even after the first period.

Three players scored in double figures for the Arrows, led by sophomore Corinne Thomas who scored a game high 25 points, including six three’s. She added five assists and three steals.

Presley Griffitts, who came off a big performance against Urbana, came back with 16 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and six steals for the Arrows.

Adding 15 points was a third sophomore McKenzie Pauley who contributed five threes. Grabbing 15 rebounds was Macy Berner, who also dished out seven assists.

The Arrows also sent a statement around the area by defeating Kenton Ridge 55-39 as Thomas scored 23 points in the win, while Griffitts added 21.

Kenton Ridge led 14-12 after the opening period of play, put together a solid second period to take a 31-23 lead at the break.
