Are you hungry for Springfield’s famous Barn pizza but don’t want to make the trip across town?  You’re in luck, as the restaurant plans to open in Medway this week.

Available for dine-in, delivery, and carry-out, The Barn’s Medway location will offer the same menu items as their Springfield site, including their specialty BLT and Taco Pizzas.

Kim Medley, manager of the Springfield store, sat down with the New Carlisle News several weeks back as preparations were just beginning at the Medway location.  Medley said they planned to open earlier this month, but found themselves jumping through several hoops in the opening process.  She said that longtime Medway resident Amanda Mullins will manage the Medway store and its staff of approximately ten.  The Medway location will offer traditional hot and cold menu items, as well as a limited selection of Pepsi products and chips.

Medley said the plan is to deliver to Crystal Lakes, Medway, Park Layne, New Carlisle, Donnelsville, and Enon, but noted that restrictions may apply.  She said it is important to consider the time involved in traveling to an address as opposed to just looking at the miles, saying that Barn employees prode themselves on a quality product, and that they want it to arrive at your door while it’s still piping hot and fresh.

She said that The Barn originally opened in Springfield as a general store, and added the pizza kitchen and deli in 1976.  She said the drive-through window was added in the late 1980s, and the dining room was opened in the early 1990s.

Medley said that The Barn’s owner, Justin Staten, purchased the business last year, and plans to open locations in small communities in need of a “good pizza shop.”

With tentative plans to open Thursday, residents should call the Medway location at 937-315-5353 for orders.  Located at 103 East Main Street, The Barn’s Medway hours will include: Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; closed Mondays.
