Playing three sports in high school takes it toll on a lot of students. Not only does it mean that the entire school year is filled with extra-curricular activities, but it means a lot of sacrificing in order to become the player most people want to become.

For Cody North, his year is completely full with three sports that relies upon individual talent and success for the team to be successful.

North begins the school year with golf, then moves into his favorite sport of bowling, and he wraps up his year on the Warriors tennis court.

His most recognized accomplishment came during the winter on the lanes, as North bowled a 300 game against Graham, leading to being honored as a first-team all-conference bowler in the Central Buckeye Conference.

For North, he started his sports career at a young age, and has progressed to the level he is today.

“I have been bowling since I was four years old,” North said. “I also picked up tennis because of Mr. Franker the tennis coach at Northwestern, and I picked up golf because of my step dad Mark Lane.”

While he bowls all year, he is also looking to get better so he can finish out his high school career this coming season on a strong note

“I am working on becoming more consistent in my bowling game,” he said. “I am also learning a Western grip in tennis, and in golf, I am learning how to slice a draw with my drive.”

Last year in bowling, North finished the season with a 200.8 average, with his high game of 300 against Graham and a 508 series also against Graham.

He reached a 400 series or higher seven times last year, while his second highest game behind his 300 was a 251 against Tippecanoe.

“My goal is to improve in all of my sports this year,” he said. “I would like to win the league and move onto state competition.”

While undecided for his college future, he plans to major in either automotive design or become an EMT paramedic. North is also active in SADD and participates in Cole’s Warriors.
