It was a successful conference swim meet for the Tecumseh girls’ swimming team, as the Arrows placed third overall in the CBC Championships. The Arrows earned 161 points, while Northwestern was seventh with 72 and Greenon eighth with 60.

On the boys’ side, Northwestern placed fifth overall with 103 points, with Greenon seventh with 89 and Tecumseh eighth with 68.

In the girls’ 50 Free, Tecumseh sophomore Julia Randenburg placed second overall with a time of 26.22, less than one second behind the winner from Bellefontaine. The Arrows’ senior Aurora Miller finished eighth and Greenon’s Rachel Ruff was tenth overall.

Hannah Peck placed second in the girls’ 100 Free, as the Tecumseh senior swam 58.45, with her teammate Michelle Murray third at 1:00.79. Tecumseh also placed junior Emma Arndts who finished ninth with a 1:12.03.

Swimming the 200 Free was Peck who placed second overall with a 2:10.06, while Ruff was eleventh overall for Greenon with a time of 2:48.96, and the Northwestern duo of Taylor Grieshop placed 12th and Mary Stephen-Saunders was 13th.

In the 500 free, Greenon freshman Abby Graver placed fourth overall with a time of 6:13.28.

Murray gave Tecumseh a fourth place finish in the 100 Back, as she swam 1:10.98. Northwestern freshman Alex Smith was sixth with Arndts placing seventh for the Arrows.

Swimming the 100 Breast was Miller for Tecumseh who placed ninth, while Randenberg was third overall in the 100 Butterfly. Smith placed eighth for Northwestern and her teammate Emmy Funderburg was ninth.

In the 200 IM, Graver had another fourth place finish for Greenon swimming 2:37.86 with Funderburg placing eighth and her Northwestern teammate Sophia Kibler finishing 11th.

Swimming in the relays, Tecumseh was second in the 200 Free with Northwestern seventh. Northwestern also was fourth in the 400 Free, with Greenon fifth and Tecumseh sixth. The 200 Medley saw the Arrows swim to a third place finish, with Greenon seventh and Northwestern eighth.

Over on the boys’ side, Tecumseh junior Alex Kennedy was sixth in the 50 Free, with Kenny DePhillip tenth for Greenon. Kennedy came back and placed sixth in the 100 Free, with his teammate Logan Back finishing tenth.

Placing fourth in the 200 Free was Northwestern junior Liam Burns, while his teammate Gage Vorhees was eleventh and Riley Farrell from Greenon 13th.

Finishing second in the 500 Free was Northwestern freshman Drew Blazer with a time of 5:47.94, and placing fourth was DePhillip of Greenon with a 6:56.49.

Logan Back finished fourth in the 100 Backstroke, as the Tecumseh sophomore swam a 1:13.22, while in the 100 Breast, Greenon freshman Calvin Wise finished second overall with a 1:04.97.

In the 100 Butterfly, Northwestern freshman Brennan Deramus placed sixth overall with a 1:23.62.

Winning the 200 IM for the boys was Wise for Greenon with a 2:07.00. Blazer was third in that event swimming a 2:23.12.

For the boys’ relays, Northwestern was fifth and Tecumseh sixth in the 200 Free, while in the 400 Free, Greenon placed third and Northwestern seventh. Finally in the 200 Medley, Greenon placed fourth and Northwestern eighth.
