Woofstock

Woofstock 2015 will be held this Saturday, October 3 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Snyder Parks Central Bark dog park, presented by National Trail Parks and Recreation District. This pet oriented event will feature demonstrations, vendors, food trucks, setting the stage for promoting pet health and welfare. A pet costume contest begins at 1:00 pm and Silly Pet Tricks at 1:30 pm with prizes awarded. All funds raised by Woofstock will be used to support Clark County dog parks Wiggley Field and Central Bark. For more information call 328-PARK.

Family Movie Nights

National Trail Parks and Recreation District presents Family Movie Night on Saturday, October 3 in Enon featuring “Annie”. This free, family-friendly movie event will take place at Indian Valley Middle School beginning at dark (around 8:30 pm) and shown under the stars on a huge, inflatable screen with a state-of-the-art projection and sound system. Family Movie Night moves to New Carlisle on Saturday, October 10 featuring “ParaNorman” at Smith Park. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. For more information call 328-PARK.

Evening Bike Ride

An evening Bike Ride will take place on Wednesday, September 30 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm on the Little Miami Scenic Trail. The Clark County Park District and National Trail Parks and Recreation District are partnering to offer this guided, self-paced ride, which will depart Young’s at 6:00 pm, ride to Beatty Station and then return to Young’s. Play Pals

Play Pals will be held Thursday, October 1 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building located at 1301 Michell Blvd. Play Pals is open to children ages 2-4 along with an adult companion. This program, designed to build sensory awareness, motor skills, and encourage social interaction, offers caregivers the chance to participate with their little one. Trail Tots

Trail Tots begins a fall session on Thursday, October 8 - October 29 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. Trail Tots, open to children ages 3-5, features age appropriate nature-themed activities including learning stations, stories, songs and arts and crafts. Children must be potty-trained. The registration fee is $30 and pre-registration is required.

Wild About Nature Day

Wild About Nature Day will take place on Saturday, October 10 at the Snyder Park Clubhouse. The event will feature nature educational activity stations, kids crafts, hayride and more. Feed live deer and see foxes. All activities are free and a great family event. For more information call 328-PARK.

Trail Walkers

The Trail Walkers Program is held on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am and highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. The walk on October 6 will be held on the Simon Kenton Trail and meeting at the Eagle City Soccer Complex. Trail Walkers is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. For more information call 328-PARK.

Trail Hikers

Trail Hikers is held on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Rebert Pike Nature Park. These guided, self-paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. Hiking boots recommended. The program is free. For more information call 328-PARK.

Trail Riders

Trail Riders will be held on Monday, October 5, meeting at Davey Moore Park. These guided, self-paced rides are approximately 10-15 miles per round trip. The group will stop for lunch on their way back to the starting point. Bike clinics will be held the first Monday of the month at 10:30 am, a half hour before the ride begins. Participants are responsible for buying their own lunch at the food stops, and providing their own bike locks if securing their bikes while eating. Helmets are required.

Pilates Fitness Class

Pilates will begin a fall fitness class session on Wednesday, September 30 from 12:00 - 12:50 pm at the National Trail Parks and Recreation District Administration Building located at 1301 Mitchell Blvd. Pilates is stretching and strengthening. It tones muscle, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance. The registration fee for this 6-week class is $40. Pre-registration is required and participants should bring a mat.
