October 3rd marks the 8th annual Woofstock event for National Trails Parks and Recreation. This year the event will move from the dog park in Reid Park over to the new Central Bark located in Snyder Park. The event is free and runs from 10 am til 2 pm.
This year you will be able to bring out your furry friends to the park and enjoy demonstrations, vendors, food trucks and music.
Guests will be able to visit the park designed just for dogs which opened this past summer thanks to the generous support of Dr. Dana King and his wife Judy as well as a number of other donors around our community.
Also on hand will be The Humane Society Serving Clark County. Shelter Director Krissi Hawke stated that $10 discount coupons for microchipping will be handed out at the event. She will microchipping at the event or you can present the coupons at the shelter later in the month. This process protects your pets 24/7/365 if they are lost. The process is nothing more than a shot under the skin.
If you are looking for a new furry friend, adoptions will also be part of this event. The Humane Society will have some fundraising activities including a raffle. One of their biggest needs is dry cat and dog food. Bring a bag to the event or drop some off at the shelter.
