Bethel Township Fire Chief Jacob King informed the Township Trustees that the new Medic unit should be delivered within the next few weeks.
“We are completing the design of the lettering on the new medic,” said King. “That should be done this week.”
He said the new unit should be delivered a week later.
King said that the Medic unit that has been out of service needs some serious work
“We’re awaiting an estimate on repairs,” said King.
He’s also getting estimates to decide if it would be more cost efficient to repair the engine, replace the engine or have the medic box placed on a new chassis.
“I had an estimate of $80,000 to put the box on a new chassis,” said King. “I believe that includes the new chassis.”
King also stated that the township made 155 responses in the first 25 days of April.
The trustees announced that they have submitted road repair project to the county for bidding. Those include
Lake Rd. from Gerlaugh to Schiller - resurfacing
Kennedy Rd. from Beech to Lake - resurfacing
Dille Rd. from Tulip to the bridge – Chip & Seal
Bad parts of Frayne Dr. – repair
Trustee Don Minton swore in Cody Teegarden, the Fire Department’s newest member. Teegarden is also a firefighter for Vandalia.
