A motorcyclist has passed away after he was struck by a pickup truck in front of Scarff's Nursery around 12:30pm today.

Lt. Brian Aller from the Ohio State Patrol states that a black Ford F-150, driven by 19-year-old Nathan Burkholder, was traveling north on SR 235. Burkholder was turning left into Scarff’s Nursey when he collided with a motorcycle heading south.

Burkholder “hesitated, then turned into Scarff’s” according to Lt. Aller. The motorcyclist "laid the bike down and struck the right rear wheel and fender of the F-150.”

Aller confirms that 36-year-old Nicholas Martin died at the scene of the accident.

The crash is still under investigation but Aller says that “impairment” does not seem to be an issue in this case.

SR 235 was shut down in both directions until shortly after 2pm.

The Ohio State Patrol was assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Bethel Township Fire Department.
