Stephanie Angle is the Northwestern Rotary Student of the Month for November. Stephanie is a very bright young lady who has found both academic and extracurricular success during her high school career. She is a top student at Northwestern and a three-year Jan Van Gorder scholar. She plays Girls varsity soccer and was team captain this year. She also participates in club soccer with Ohio Galaxies FC. She serves her school and her community through her involvement with National Honor Society and Springfield Rotary Interact Club. Most recently, she gave her time as a volunteer at the Springfield Rotary gourmet food truck competition. She balances her academic and extracurricular responsibilities while also working as a courier for Cole Acton Harmon Dunn. She likes to spend her free time having fun with her church’s youth group. Her future plans include attending a four year college to pursue a degree in Political Science.

The Northwestern Rotary Citizen of the Month is Ann Buffenbarger. Ann is an excellent school citizen. She is involved in National Honor Society and she volunteers for Junior Achievement. Ann is a leader and role model within the school. She serves as president of the school’s FCCLA chapter and as senior field commander of the award-winning Warrior Marching Band. She is also a member of concert band, symphonic band, and jazz band. Outside of school, Ann sings in her church’s choir. She also serves as president of her 4-H club. She is involved in many community service activities, most recently collecting Christmas presents for needy families and helping to organize a chili cook-off for a donation to the Ronald McDonald House at Dayton Children’s Hospital. When she isn’t participating in extracurricular activities or serving her community, she is earning money for college by working part time at Fent’s Dairy Corner or babysitting. Ann’s future plans are to earn her degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University so that she may realize her dream of becoming a band director. Ann is very thankful for the support her school, community, parents, and band family have given her throughout her high school career and she is grateful for this recognition.
