The Tecumseh High School Marching Arrows performed at the University of Dayton on November 6th, 2016 in the OMEA State Marching Band Finals. There were approximately 130 bands that performed in this state-wide event. In order to qualify and participate, the performing band had to receive an overall 1 ( a “superior” rating), at a local OMEA adjudicated event. The Marching Arrows performed selections from the rock opera, “Tommy” by The Who at this year’s state competition and received a 2 (an “excellent” rating), after qualifying on their home turf on October 22nd, 2016.

Thanks to the Tecumseh Elementary PTO, New Carlisle Elementary fourth graders traveled to the Victoria Theater in Dayton on Monday, November 7th to see the production “We The People.” The first show of the 2016-2017 Discovery Series, the play featured several of our country’s founding fathers as members of a rock band that helped students understand principles of our government including The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, the branches of government, Congress, checks and balances, The Supreme Court, and several others.

After visiting the Victoria Theater, fourth grade students, teachers, and chaperones stopped at Community Park in Fairborn for a picnic lunch and recess. Elementary students, teachers, principals, and parents are grateful to the Tecumseh Elementary PTO for their sponsorship of transportation costs for field trips this school year.
