The Phoneton area water line and service laterals have been installed ahead of schedule, the Miami County commissioners heard last week.
County Sanitary Engineer Paul Huelskamp said March 8 a construction progress meeting was being planned. The county in the fall contracted with Milcon Construction of Troy to extend the water lines for $1.8 million.
Doug Evans, assistant sanitary engineer, said the work during the winter “was great.” The project initially was expected to be done by summer. Evans said the system should be in service within a month.
The project location was as follows: - 6163 E. U.S. Route 40 west to 2988 E. U.S. Route 40; 8745 S. State Route 202 south to 9800 S. State Route 202; 9275 S. Wildcat Road south to 9605 S. Wildcat Road; and Shroyer and Dinsmore drives.
